Company history

INTRODUCTION
 
The forefather of our company was the „Prothesis Factory” which was established in 1915.
 
GYSGY Ortopédtechnika was established in 1992 and started its own activity in Prosthetics which was broadened with almost all fields of Orthopedy.
In 2004 the company changed its name. Since today’s healthcare and rehabilitation is  not only about orthopaedics our old name „Ortopédtechnika – Orthopaedics” has changed to GYSGY REHA. This new name means a company with more services and care.
 
GYSGY REHA Ltd. has been one of the greatest orthopaedic and rehabilitation company in Hungary for more than 10 years. It is also a reference production facility for most new devices. After the year 1992 we have grown very fast. We employ 70workers nowadays, Our revenue in 2016 exceeded 1 billion HUF .

Our primary fields are  producing and selling medical and rehabilitation devices.We are proud to tell we own the full palette of „classic” rehabilitation devices, we are a significant supplier of raw materials, components and accesories with an extended import and export network.

Due to the earlier expansion we have been using the latest technologies and materials for our products and designs. Also we do much research and upgrade new techniques.
In the past 5 years we developed more than 80 new products which stand their grounds on the market thanks to their high quality.

Our company has established a new headquarters in 2008 which meets the European Union’s standards not only in the production fields but also we have created liveable environment to our workers and we pay exceptionally high attention to the protection of the nature.

We are also proud to tell we are first who use skin-friendly silicone technologies.
Our strategy is to research and develop new technolgies, new services and products for disabled patients and help them return to normal life and provide them support to be able to work.

The GYSGY REHA Limited is one of the most significant corporation on the hungarian O&P market.

We have been working by ISO  9001/2000 standards since 2001 (with TÜV audits yearly) in two main categories: Production and Commerce.
 
The production contains two main fields:
 
1. Custom prothetical and orthetical devices such as Upper/Lower limb Prostheses, AFO’s, Cervical/spine support systems, Stoma-therapy devices,insoles, orthopaedic shoes etc.
These productions meet the European Union’s highest quality standards and also correspond with Hungarian 4/2009 law and standard of the Hungarian Medical Devices …
Materials used for these products are from the classical wood and leather to the latest modern plastics, silicones and titanium alloys. The technology is based on the classical solutions along with nowadays’ used myo-electrical tehnologies.
We provide better rehabilitation care for our patients by team work. The team consists doctors, orthopaedic technicians and rehab specialists.
 
2. Our other production field  is the range of adaptive and pre-fabricated devices. These products are sold and applied by ourselves in our shops and at the HQ but mainly sold to wholesalers.

Commerce and trade is done mostly in the homeland but we have hot an extensive export network. Homeland trade is helped by the REHAB Corporation group which has a wide network of rehab devices shops and measurement places throughout Hungary.

Most of our products are sold in our own shops not only in the capital but through the whole country.

We provide training and education for students in the prosthetics and orthotics profession to help national education and train more employers for this special profession.Our school is proud to have trained more than 1000 students in the past 10 years.
There are also frequent training courses of new technologies and products in O&P

• We make a wide range of insoles which are made in place and can be waited. We make all our insoles with custom measurements to provide excellent fit for you. In addtion we build insoles into any kind of shoes.

• We started first to produce silicone aesthetic prostheses (fingers, hands, feet,ears,nose) in Hungary
• Stoma therapy devices, textile AFO’s by your wish
• Ortheses for all parts of the human body such as wrist bandages, neck and spinal support, knee and ankle support, etc
• Rehabilitation devices such as wheelchairs, special room toilets, sticks and crutches, handrails for bathing and hygene
• Special seats for paralyzed adults and children which provide steady sitting either in car or buggies
• Light-weight plastic-casts and walking soles for traumatic injured patients
• All kind of upper and lower extremity prostheses
• Raw materials and accessories for O&P production
